Recognition of My University Degree in the UAE

October 23, 2015

If you are a graduate of an Australian Public University and you are seeking employment in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) you are generally required to have your educational documents legalised so that they may be recognised in the UAE.

This process involves presenting your testamur or academic Transcript to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for the issue of an Authentication Certificate.

DFAT will only authenticate Australian public documents. As University degrees and transcripts are not public documents, DFAT will not issue an Authentication Certificate unless they have been certified or verified in compliance with the policies of DFAT.

Our Sydney CBD based Notary Public service has assisted many graduates of Australian universities by certifying and verifying their educational documents so that they may be recognised in the UAE.

For an Australian educational document to be legally recognised in the UAE, after it has been authenticated by both DFAT it is then required to be legalised at the UAE Embassy in Canberra.

We have extensive experience legalising documents originating in Australia for acceptance anywhere within the UAE.
